TWENTY TWENTY VISION is a film production company based in Berlin, Germany. The principal and shareholder Thanassis Karathanos formed together with Uta Ganschow († 2021) the company in December 1998 as a vehicle for the production of feature film projects aimed at the national and international markets. Twenty Twenty Vision has continuously produced award winning feature films and documentaries.
Since its founding, Twenty Twenty Vision has produced more than 30 German and international movies such films as the Oscar nominated AJAMI (2009) by Yaron Shani & Scandar Copti as well as Cannes competitors ELLE (2016) by Paul Verhoeven, MA LOUTE (2016) by Bruno Dumont and AN by Naomi Kawase which was the opener of Un Certain Regard in Cannes 2015. Other award winning film productions screened at prestigious festivals worldwide include Mahmoud Al Massad’s BLESSEDBENEFIT and Rafi Pitt’s THE HUNTER (2010) and SOY NERO (2016). The company’s latest productions include the Oscar nominated THE MAN WHO SOLD HIS SKIN (2020) by Kaouther Ben Hania, which premiered at Venice IFF, THE GRAVEDIGGER’S WIFE (2021) by Khadar Ayderus(Cannes – Semaine de la Critique), MARIUPOLIS 2 by Mantas Kvedaravicius and THE DAM by Ali Cherri, which both premiered in Cannes in 2022, FOUR DAUGHTERS by Kaouther Ben Hania, which had its premiere at the official competition in Cannes 2023 and is nominated for an Academy Award as Best Documentary and, most recently, ALL THAT’S LEFT OF YOU by Cherin Dabis, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival 2025.
